Mrs. Mary Hooks

Mrs. Mary Hooks passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Heritage Inn Nursing Facility. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Tennille Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Walden officiating. Interment was held in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

On Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Heritage Inn Nursing Facility, Sandersville, GA, Mrs. Mary Dell Outlaw Hooks fulfilled her destiny and the writing of her scriptures and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Hooks, a lifelong native of Washington County was born on June 8, 1940 to the parentage of the late Mr. Addison Outlaw and the late Mrs. Ruthie Mae Cannida Outlaw.

At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Georgia Grove Baptist Church. Until her health failed, she was affiliated at Tennille Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Mary Dell was a member of Ideal Chapter #101 OES of Harrison, GA.

Mrs. Mary Dell was united in Holy Matrimony on November 11, 1965 to Mr. James Hooks. Their union was blessed with six children. She was employed with Chambers Cleaners for many years until she retired.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Mrs. Ora Dell Outlaw Bell, Mr. James T. Outlaw and Mr. Leroy Outlaw.

Mrs. Hooks is survived by her husband: Mr. James Hooks, Tennille, Georgia; daughters: Ms. Patricia Rider, Ms. Sandra Bryant (Albert) Nelson, Ms. Ramekia Jordan, Ms. Cheryl Hooks-Thomas, Tennille, Georgia; sons: Mr. Dwayne (Valerie) Hooks, New Orleans, Louisiana, Mr. Otis (Sabariah) Bryant, Tennille, Georgia; sister: Ms. Doretha Lovett, Sandersville, Georgia; brother: Mr. Thomas (Effie) Outlaw, Atlanta, Georgia; sisters-in-law: Ms. Mary Lee Walker, Warthen, Georgia, Ms. Marie Outlaw, Vero Beach, Florida, Mrs. Shirley Prosser (Wayne) Hodges, Ms. Retha Simmons, Sandersville, Georgia; brother-in-law: Bishop Charlie (Frances) Simmons, Indio, California; a host of other relatives and friends.
