Deacon Leroy Walden, Jr.

Deacon Leroy Walden, Jr., Wrightsville, Georgia passed away on Sunday morning, January 16, 2022. Graveside services were held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Sand Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Walden officiating.

Deacon Leroy Walden, Jr. was born on January 22, 1960 in Wrightsville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Dea. Leroy Walden, Sr. and the late Mrs. Sadie Wadley-Walden.

He received his early educational training from the Dock Kemp Elementary School and was a 1978 graduate of Johnson County High School.

After graduation, Deacon Walden worked several places in and around Johnson County. Due to illness, he had to give up his everyday job.

At an early age, Bro. Leroy joined Sand Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Johnson County. Bro. Leroy was a very faithful member. As a result, he served as a deacon on the deacon ministry. He was a member of the trustee ministry. In addition, Deacon Walden served as a custodian and worked with the food service ministry and other ministries. Yes, he was all over the church.

Deacon Walden leaves to cherish his memories, one sister: Mrs. Bobbie (Hubert) Sanderson, Berlin, Connecticut; two brothers: Mr. Mark Walden, East Dublin, Georgia, Rev. Jerry (Katherine) Walden, Wrightsville, Georgia; one aunt: Ms. Lotis Pea Oliver, Wrightsville, Georgia; two nephews: Mr. Derrick (Annette) Sanderson, Windsor, Connecticut, Mr. Rodney (Willistine) Gilmore, Suwanee, Georgia; one niece: Mrs. Jerilyn (Jabren) Duggan, Augusta, Georgia; a host of beloved cousins, other relatives and friends.
