Mrs. Alma J. Duckworth May



Mrs. Alma J. Duckworth May, 101 Pine Forest Drive, Sandersville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Kingdom Life Fellowship Ministries at 11:00 AM with Apostle Clifford Duckworth, Sr. officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.


Ms. Alma Jean Duckworth was born on January 2, 1940 to the  parentage of the late Mr. Eddie      Duckworth and Mrs. Alma Cinderella Henderson Duckworth.


She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mr.  Albert May, Jr. where they raised Janet, Jeffrey and Michael.

Pastor May was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at the Community Church of Jesus in Bartow, Georgia in the late 1970’s and her life was turned around by The Lord Jesus Christ.


She received her formal education in the Washington County Public School System. She also attended Georgia College at Milledgeville  and Georgia Military College. She worked as a sales associate for The Ladies Vogue for many years.


Pastor May and her family joined her son, Apostle Dr. Clifford Duckworth on February 5, 1982 to start a new ministry, at the call of God, Redeemed Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Harrison, Georgia. She served in women’s ministry, foundations teacher, bible study teacher and deliverance ministries. She later served as Pastor of Kingdom Life Fellowship Ministries in Harrison, Georgia.


Pastor May received the call to evangelize and she began her journey to win souls for the Kingdom of God. The first family that she reached out to and won was the family of Mr. Fred and Mrs. Helen Brookins. From that effort other members of the Brookins family were saved.


From her evangelistic efforts, she planted a new church on College Street in Sandersville, Georgia, Redeemed Church, Sandersville, where she reached many people for Christ. She ministered to a number of people all around, who have reached out to express thanks for the impact that she has had on their lives.


She was preceded in death by two sons: Mr. Calvin Duckworth, Mr. Jeffrey Allen Duckworth; two sisters: Ms. Lucille Greene, Ms. Linda Duckworth; two brothers: Mr. George Lee Duckworth and Mr. Willie Green Duckworth.


Pastor May leaves to cherish her memories, two sons: Apostle Dr. Clifford (Lillie) Duckworth, Sr., Sandersville, Georgia, Elder Michael Wayne (Linda Mae) Duckworth, Augusta, Georgia; one daughter: Mrs. Janet Duckworth (Vernon) Bridges, Sandersville, Georgia,  two sisters: Elder Sharon Patricia Barnes, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Mary Jane Mimbs, Atlanta, Georgia; two daughters-in-law: Mrs. Mattie Duckworth, Mrs. Pamela Duckworth; devoted friends: Mother Helen Brookins, Prophetess Teresa Philemon, Sis. Genetta Brookins, Sis. Mary Moye, Minister Juliet Jackson, Elder William and Sister Belinda Dixon; twenty-one grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


On April 20, 2024, Pastor May went to her place of reward with Our Lord Jesus Christ.
