Mrs. Helen Scott-Kilpatrick

Mrs. Helen Scott-Kilpatrick, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Graveside services were held on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Georgia Grove Baptist Church cemetery with Pastor Mack Jackson officiating.

 

She was born on September 9, 1961 to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie F. Scott, Sr. and the late Ms. Hattie R. Peacock Scott.

 

Helen joined Green Grove Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member before moving her membership to Saint James Christian Fellowship where she continued to be a loyal and faithful servant.

 

She moved to Atlanta, GA in 1980 to pursue her dream of becoming a Master Cosmetologist. After finishing Cosmetology School, Helen spent time working with two major companies in the hair industry; Dudley and Bronner Brothers. She enjoyed doing hair in Atlanta and Augusta, GA; with over forty (40) years in the hair industry, Helen influenced and trained many to follow in her footsteps to pursue careers in the beauty industry. She returned back to her hometown and worked in the salon with  Mrs. Bridges before opening her own salon  under the name, Cyndrika’s House of Beauty. In 1990, Helen invested in her own building and moved her salon to Tennille, GA. Her entrepreneurship blossomed from there into other business ventures. She continued the art under the name P’Zazz Hair Designs, P’Zazz Party and Wedding Planners and P’Zazz Boutique and Gifts until her untimely passing.

 

She will always be known as the matriarch for setting trends in fashion and changing the way things were done when it comes to the hair, beauty industry and event planning in her hometown. Helen was one of the first cosmetologist to be featured as one of the Platform Artist for Bronner Brothers, one of the largest Hair Platforms in Atlanta, GA.

 

Helen was a member of The Professional Local Beauty Culture League from Sandersville, GA, The State Beauty Culture League and The National Beauty Culture League from 2000-2005. She obtained her Doctorate in Cosmetology during this time. She was known for being an entrepreneur, her loving personality, creativity and P’Zazz. She took pride in planning and beautifying any wedding, party or event. Helen gave back to the community every year and worked with several charities. She enjoyed helping people in any way she could. She was truly a master of all things and a legend in her time. She truly had the Midas Touch.

 

She was proceeded in death by her husband: Mr. Danny L. Kilpatrick.

 

Mrs. Kilpatrick leaves cherished memories to her loving and devoted daughter: Mrs. Cyndrika (Dedrick) Brown, Tennille, GA; two daughters she raised as her own: Ms. Crystal Battle, Augusta, Ga, Ms. Shaundraya Battle, Sandersville, GA; two step daughters: Ms. Delia Kilpatrick, Gainesville, FL, Ms. LaToya Kilpatrick, Arlington, VA; one grandson: Mr. Dedrick Brown, Jr, Sandersville, GA; five granddaughters: Ms. Kquaneshia Bethea, Atlanta, GA, Ms. Nateshia Scott, Ms. Siyah Brown, Katelyn G. Johnson, Sandersville, GA, Ms. Kennedy Walker, Augusta, GA; one great grandson: Master Dorian O. Brown, Sandersville, GA; god children: Ms. Jackie Barnes, Conyers, GA; Mrs. Jackie Gyamfi (Travis) Green, Columbia, SC, Ms. Sara Johnson, Milledgeville, GA, Ms. Apollonia Turk, Granitville, SC; six brothers: Mr. Willie F. Scott, Jr., Mr. Mackle Scott, Mr. Stacey B. (Kizzy) Scott, Tennille, GA,  Mr. Roando (Denice) Scott, Jr., Nashville, GA, Mr. Amato Scott, Adel, GA, Mr. David (Emily) James, Sandersville, GA; three sisters: Mrs. Sandra (Darrell) Harris, Stafford, VA, Mrs. Bexina (Lawrence) Jordan, Sparks, GA, Ms. Benetta Scott, Adele, GA; three stepsisters: Ms. Navetta Rogers, Sandersville, GA, Ms. Angela Rogers, Ms. Judy Rogers, Atlanta, GA; six sisters-in-law: Mrs. Joan (Michael) Sims, Mrs. Margaret (Eddie) Gordon, Mrs. Mary (Ned) Vandiver, Mrs. Linda (Ed) Williams, Ms. Shirley Godbolt, Mrs. Jane (Alfred) Camp-Dickerson; four brothers-in-law: Mr. James (Peggy) Kilpatrick, Mr. Allan (Dana) Kilpatrick, Mr. James (Armedell) Camp, Jr., Mr. Edward (Carolyn) Camp; six aunts: Mrs. Virginia (LC) Hunt, , Ms. Maeola Lester, Ms. Mary Louis Scott, Ms. Betty Peacock, Mrs. Nanette (Elliot) Harris, Ms. Loretta (Gladys) Johnson; two uncles: Mr. Larry Scott, Mr. Willie Johnson, Jr.; devoted cousins: Ms. Marie Scott, Mr. Vincent (Sheila) Duggan; devoted friends: Ms. Cynthia Ware, Ms. Shapel Edwards, Mrs. Trellis (Curtis) Dent, Ms. Doris Thomas, Ms. Mary Massey, Ms. Jeannette Peacock, Ms. Betty Hill Ms. Brenda Washington; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
