Mr. Neurashia Chivers, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Neeler A.M.E. Church, Davisboro, Georgia with Rev. Dr. Wilhelmina Jordan officiating. Interment was held in church cemetery.

Mr. Neurashia Chivers, the oldest child of the late Mr. Rogers Chivers and the late Mrs. Lerlia Wilder Chivers, was born on February 1, 1935, in Carrollton, Georgia. He was raised at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton and attended George Washington Carver High School. While living in Carrollton, he was married, employed by Duncan & Stancil, and his first two children were born.

After moving to Atlanta, Neurashia met the late Ms.  Bessie L. Bryant.  They were married in 1988 and he became a father to her four children. In 1994, the two of them retired and moved to Bessie's hometown of Davisboro, Georgia, where they became active members of Neeler A.M.E. Church. Bessie and Neurashia remained together until her death in 2015.  At Neeler, Neurashia served on the Trustee Board and helped maintain the church building and property.  He stayed busy, fixing things around his house and helping others with their repairs.  He took pride in his lawn, which he maintained year-round, and he took advantage of every opportunity to show off his skills on the barbecue grill.

Neurashia is survived by six children: Mr. Fernando(Marie) Chivers, Ms. Monica Chivers Powell, Mrs. Deborah Bryant (Richard) Duodu , Ms. Dianne Bryant, Mr. Calvin Bryant, Mr. Alvin Bryant; two sisters: Mrs. Monica Chivers Byrd, Mrs. Lerline Chivers Thomas; two brothers-in-law: Mr. Raymond Byrd, Mr. Calvin Strowbridge; one sister-in law, Ms. Ida Lee Strowbridge;  eleven (11) grandchildren; twenty (20) great-grandchildren; three (3) great-great-grandchildren; three (3) nieces; one (1) nephew; a host of  other relatives and friends.
