Mr. William Walker, Sr.


Mr. William Walker, Sr. passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Smith Medical Nursing Care Center. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at First Community Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Jackson officiating. Interment was held in Limestone Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Walker was born on March 22, 1940 to the parentage of the late Mr. R.L. Walker and the late Mrs. Anna Belle Brown Walker.

He attended T.J. Elder High School and was employed at Albert Brown Saw Mill until he became ill in 1983. Mr. Walker was married to Mrs. Rose Eva Walker for fifty nine years and their union was blessed with six children.

He was a hardworking man until he became ill. His illness did not stop his sense of humor. He always had quirky phrases and witty comebacks and often gave nicknames to the people who encountered him. William loved his family; and was devoted to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Walker leaves cherished memories to his loving and devoted wife: Mrs. Rose Eva Walker, Sandersville, Georgia; one daughter: Ms. Joyce Walker, New York, New York; five sons: Mr. William Walker, Jr., Mr. Tracy (Brenda) Walker, Mr. Spencer Walker, Sr., Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Tony Walker, Bronx, New York, Mr. Stacey Walker, East Point, Georgia; one sister: Ms. Vernell Salter, Sandersville, Georgia; ten grandchildren: LaKeisha, Davone, Jerome, Spencer, Jr., Jessica, Richard, Candace, Darryl, William, III, Paul, Jr.; eleven great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
