Mr. Charles Dennis


Mr. Charles Dennis, affectionately known as "Tiger Red", passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Doctors Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. from Springfield Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Manzie T. Broxton officiating. Interment was held in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Dennis was born on September 3, 1956 to the parentage of the late Mr. Sammie Holsey, Sr. and the late Ms. Lorene Dennis.

Charles was a 1974 graduate of Washington County High School. He was a member of St. Galilee Baptist Church where he was a faithful member. Charles loved his Pastor and Church Family.

Tiger Red was a loving, caring, affectionate and kindhearted man that everyone loved. He loved all sports and would talk to you so much that he would throw you off your game. You could never be mad with him, because all you could do was laugh. He will truly be missed by all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by two sister: Mrs. Louise Freeman, Mrs. Brenda Taylor and one brother: Mr. Sammie Holsey, Jr.

Mr. Dennis is survived by five sisters: Ms. Barbara Williams (Charles Davenport), Mrs. Sherry (Kennedy) Heard, Mrs. Justina (Eddie) Miller, Ms. Betty Fleming, Ms. Kathy Smith; eight brothers: Mr. Don (Mayme) Dennis, Mr. Franklin (Cassandra) Dennis, Mr. Louis Holsey, Mr. Danny Holsey, Mr. Rickey Holsey, Mr. Tony (Tanger) Holsey, Mr. Kenneth Holsey, Mr. Calvin Smith; daughter: Mrs. Tammy (Gamiciel) Dixon; several other relatives and friends.
