Mr. Velmar Lemar

Mr. Velmar Lamar departed this life on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Smith Medical Nursing Care Center in Sandersville, GA. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at M. C. Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Lamar entered this life on September 9, 1945 in Tennille, GA to the parentage of the late Mr. Vernon Peeler, Sr. and the late Ms. Annie Mae Lamar.

Velmar spent half of his life in Tennille, GA and the other half in Camden, NJ. He worked for many years as a construction worker.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also loved socializing with the staff at Smith Medical Nursing Care Center.

Mr. Lamar leaves to cherish his memories a devoted daughter: Ms. Gwendolyn Harris, Sandersville, GA; ten sisters: Mrs. Carolyn (Benjamin) Renfroe, Ms. Maudette Butts, Ms. Betty Ann Peeler, Milledgeville, GA, Ms.Catherine Peeler, Sandersville, GA, Ms. Jeanie Mae Lamar, Opelika, FL, Mrs. Annie Ruth (Gary) McGill, Atlanta, GA, Ms. Adell Peeler, Tennille, GA, Ms. Diane Harden, Mrs. Ethel (Zack) Canty, Augusta, GA, Mrs. Cynthia Gordon, Macon, GA; five brothers: Mr. Daniel (Terri) James, Sandersville, GA, Mr. Sam (Carolyn) James, Atlanta, GA, Mr. Matthew (Bernice) James, Milledgeville, GA, Mr. Randy Peeler, Tennille, GA, Mr. Vernon Peeler, Jr.; two grandchildren: Ms. Hannah Harris, Sandersville, GA, Mr. Donnie Harris, Jr. Warner Robins, GA; devoted aunt: Ms. Gladine Hooks, Tennille, GA; two special cousins: Ms. Elizabeth Lamar, Tennille, GA, Mr. Wayman Lamar, Opelika, FL; one great grandchild, several other relatives and friends. M. C. Smith Funeral Home was in charge.
