Mrs. Thomasina Green

Mrs. Thomasina Green, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Smith Medical Nursing Care Center. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at M.C. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Loretta Middleton officiating. Interment was in the Sandersville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Green was born on October 31, 1929 to the parentage of the late Mr. Tommy Thompson and Mrs. Lucy Green Thompson.

She graduated from Thomas Jefferson Elder High School. After graduation she moved to Queens, New York. She worked for many years before she retired and moved back to Sandersville, Georgia.

Mrs. Green was a loving and caring person. She was a devoted member of St. Paul AME Church where she served on the usher board until her health failed.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Walter Green, Sr.; son: Mr. Walter Green, Jr. and sister: Mrs. Lillian Chambers.

Mrs. Green is survived by one brother: Mr. Roger Thompson, Queens, New York; two nieces: Ms. Debra Lee, Ms. Monet Thompson, Queens, New York; six nephews: Mr. Joseph Green, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Rashad Thompson, Louisville, Georgia, Mr. Grady Jackson, Jr., Conyers, Georgia, Mr. Harold (Carol) Thompson, Mr. Gregory Thompson, Queens, New York, Mr. Lamar Cockrell, Patterson, New Jersey; cousins: Mrs. Cathy (Freddie) Blocker, Mrs. Trina (Eddie) Lattimore, Ms. Joanne Haynes, Sandersville, Georgia; devoted friend: Ms. Brenda Henderson, Sandersville, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.
