Ms. Hattie Mae Hall


Ms. Hattie Mae Hall, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Tanner officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.


I have fought a good fight, I have finished my race, I have kept the faith, now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteousness judge, will reward to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

2 Timothy 4:7-8


She was born on May 27, 1932 in Warthen, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Charlie Hall and Mrs. Pearl Mills Hall. She was preceded in death by six siblings.


Ms. Hall attended Middle Hill School in Warthen, Georgia. At an early age, she joined Mount Olive Baptist Church where she served as a faithful usher and missionary until her health failed.


She was an awesome cook, it was her passion besides telling how they grew up picking cotton and having to walk to school. She loved making people laugh with her energetic personality. Her favorite color was baby blue.


At the age of ninety (90), she could recite her Easter Speech that she learned at the age of twelve (12). Ms. Hall spent her life taking care of her nieces and nephews. She was employed with Howard and Barbara Sheppard for more than fifty (50) years.


Ms. Hall leaves to cherish her memories, four sisters: Mrs. Carrie Bell Boss, Tennille, Georgia, Mrs. Lucille (Doyle) Walker, Ft. Worth, Texas, Ms. Bertha James, Miami, Florida, Mrs. Barbara Jean Smith, Hollywood, Florida; one brother: Mr. Robert (Angela) Hall, Swainsboro, Georgia; two devoted nieces: Mrs. Pearline (Marion) Wiley, Warthen, Georgia, Mrs. Rose (Carlton, Sr.) Danzy; devoted extended family: Mr. Cliff (Dianne) Sheppard, Jr. and family, Mrs. Sharon (Henry) Sheppard Ouzts and family; devoted caregiver: Ms. Ashley Dallas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
