Mrs. Lola Scott Marion


Mrs. Lola Scott Marion, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Serenity Place Hospice, Dublin, Georgia. Graveside services were held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Elder Jessie Mountain officiating.


She was born on September 13, 1953 to the parentage of the late Mr. William Scott and the late Ms. Lorene Canty.


Mrs. Marion attended Washington County High School where she graduated with the class of 1971. During her early adult years, she lived in Macon, Georgia and worked for Hilton Hotel and had many friends.


After she returned back home to Washington County, she began working at Joette’s in Wrightsville, Georgia as a seamstress. Later she became a caregiver for the Jones Family in Tennille, Georgia. In 2004, she began working at Walmart in Sandersville, Georgia and retired in 2018.


On September 13, 1985 she married Mr. Alex Marion. She enjoyed fishig in her free time and spending time with her children and grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by one sister: Ms. Doretha Scott; three brothers: Mr. Willie Farris Scott, Mr. Johnny Washington, Mr. Robert James Scott; one granddaughter: Miss Christal Johnson and her godparents: Mr. Raymond Scott and Mrs. Gladys Scott.


Mrs. Marion leaves cherished memories to her husband: Mr. Alex Marion; one son: Mr. Shedrick (Tenesha) Scott; two daughters: Mrs. Marilyn (Moses) Randolph, Ms. Shaketha C. Marion; one sister: Ms. Mae Ola Lester; two brothers: Mr. James (Virginia) Washington, Mr. Zebbie (Ella) Scott; three devoted aunts: Mrs. Mattie O. Taylor, Mrs. Mattie (Isaac) Bivins, Ms. Ethel Porch; two uncles: Mr. Thomas Canty, Mr. Bobby Canty; two god sisters: Ms. Jeanette Scott, Ms. Marie Scott; four god brothers: Mr. Robert (Kay) Scott, Mr. Eddie Lee Scott, Mr. Theotis Scott, Mr. Randolph Scott; twelve grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
