Mr. Robert Kelsey, Jr.



Mr. Robert Kelsey Jr. passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Oconee Health and Rehabilitation. Memorial services were held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at M. C. Smith Funeral Home Chapel.


He was born on March 23, 1951 unto the late Mr. Robert Kelsey, Sr. and the late Mrs. Catherine Kelsey.


Mr. Kelsey was a graduate of T.J. Elder High School Class of 1969. While in high school he was a member of the Marching Band in which he played the trombone. Upon graduation, Robert enlisted into the United States Army.


After serving in the military, Robert resided in Atlanta, Georgia where he spent fifteen (15) years as a driver for Keebler. In the later part of his life, he returned to Washington County to live the remainder of his life close to family.


He was preceded in death by three sisters: Mrs. Lorine Andrews, Mrs. Willie Eva Brown, Mrs. Claudia Pearl Curry and one brother: Mr. Walter Curry.


Mr. Kelsey leaves to cherish his memories, two sons: Mr. Robert Battle, Savannah, Georgia, Mr. Andrew James, Jacksonville, Florida; one granddaughter: Ms. Shenerica Cato, Milledgeville, Georgia; six sisters: Mrs. Mary Kelsey Warthen, Mrs. Willie Mae (Carswell) Duggan, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Jeanette Kelsey, Tennille, Georgia, Mrs. Idella Kelsey Parker, Savannah, Georgia, Mrs. Barbara (Samuel) Thomas, Swansea, South Carolina, Mrs. Patricia Diann Curry, Delaware; three brothers: Mr. Willie Frank (Sherrie) Johnson, Trenton, New Jersey, Mr. Randolph Kelsey, Mr. Willie Lee Curry, Tennille, Georgia; one aunt: Mrs. Lillian Hines, Harrison, Georgia; devoted friend: Mr. Eli Hines, Harrison, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends. M. C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
