Mr. Allen Moment, Jr.

Mr. Allen Moment, Jr., affectionately known as “Boot,” entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Washington County Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at Green Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin Hatcher officiating. Interment was held in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens., Sandersville, Georgia.

Mr. Moment was born on September 5, 1980 to the parentage of the late Mr. Allen Moment, Sr. and Mrs. Kathy Moment.

He was reared in Washington County, Georgia. He attended the Washington County School System and graduated with the class of 2000.

At an early age, he joined Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Allen’s last employment was with Industrial Steel.

Allen was a devoted son, father, brother and uncle. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved sports and spending time with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his father: Mr. Allen Moment, Sr.; his grandmothers: Mrs. Lillie Mae Moment Hall, Mrs. Frankie Randall Williams; his grandfathers: Mr. James (Bo) Hicks, Sr., Mr. Albert E. Moment, Sr. and his uncle: Mr. Moneque Moment, Sr.

Mr. Moment leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter: Ms. Shawntyunna Moment; mother: Mrs. Kathy Moment; one sister: Ms. Lillie Patricia Moment (Demetrius Jackson); nephews and nieces: Quenstavious Jackson, Shalexus Jackson, Tristian Jackson, Kayden, Trevin, Summer, Terrin, Christian; aunts and uncles: Mr. Albert (Carolyn) Moment, Jr., Mr. Clarence (Brenda) Moment, Sr., Mrs. Annie Moment, Mrs. Janet Jones, Mrs. Arlene Hicks, Mrs. Faye West, Mrs. Lois Barnwell, Ms. Brenda Hicks, Mrs. Brinda (Alvin) Wilson, Mr. James E. Hicks, Mr. Kenneth (Jane) Hicks, Mr. Ellis Hicks; great aunts: Ms. Dorothy Simons, Ms. Shirley Rooney; devoted cousins: Mr. Moneque Moment, Jr., Ms. Angela Moment; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
