Mrs. Marie Cummings


Mrs. Marie Cummings, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Tennille Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Walden officiating. Interment was held in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Marie was born to the parentage of the late Mr. Ed Scott and the late Mrs. Alice Haynes Scott on September 18, 1923. she was one of six children, which preceded her in death.

Mrs. Cummings was married to the late Mr. Arthur Cummings and their union was blessed with two children.

She attended the public school system of Washington County. At an early age she joined Zion Hope Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Tennille Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cummings memory shall be cherished by the many friends she made and the lives she touched. She leaves cherished memories to her son: Mr. Ernest Graham; daughter: Prophetess Valdress Parker; eight grandchildren: Mrs. Debra (Keith) Phillips, Ms. Tajah Johnson, Mr. Alexander (Rebecca) Graham, Mr. Tony Bryant, Jr., Mr. Tony Bryant, III, Ms. Cedrianna Parker, Ms. Deanna Parker, Mr. Cedric Parker, Jr., fifteen great grandchildren; two devoted nephews: Mr. John (Nikki) Pleas, Mr. John (Leona) Scott; two devoted cousins: Mrs. Essie H. Bloodsaw, Mr. Charles Haynes, eight nieces: Mrs. Lillie (Larry) McAllister, Mrs. Mary Alice (William) Pierce, Ms. Bernestine Blue, Ms. Alicia Relford, Ms. Olivia Scott, Ms. Darlene Ervin, Mrs. Arlene (David) Bills, Ms. Dianne Chambliss; seven nephews: Mr. Roy (Rebecca) Scott, Jr., Mr. Johnnie B. Scott, Mr. Wyman Scott, Mr. Joel Scott, Mr. Allen Scott, Mr. Samuel Scott, Mr. Jerry Scott; devoted friend: Mrs. Jean Burden; a host of other relatives and friends. M.C.
