Mr. Herbert Walker

Mr. Herbert Walker, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Fairview Park Hospital, Dublin, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Abundant Life Miracle Deliverance Center with Elder Jessie Mountain officiating. Interment was held in Harrison Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.

He was born on March 19, 1940 to the parentage of the late Mr. John Henry Walker and the late Mrs. Annie Walker.

Mr. Walker was educated in the public school system of Washington County. He began employment with Georgia Department of Transportation in 1983, where he retired after twenty years in 2003. Outside of work he was always with family. He was always happy, never complained and willing to help if he could. He was a loving, caring and devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, co-worker and friend.

He was preceded in death by five brothers: Mr. Leroy Walker, Mr. James Walker, Mr. Felton Walker, Mr. Coleman Walker and Mr. Earnest Walker.

Mr. Walker leaves to cherish his memories eight children: Mrs. Rosa Lee (David) Roberson, Ms. Sarah Lewis, Mr. Jackie Lewis, Wrightsville, Georgia, Ms. Annette Lewis, Harrison, Georgia, Mr. Willie James (Annette) Irwin, Warthen, Georgia, Ms. Joyce Lewis, Tennille, Georgia, Ms. Shamika Roberson, Mr. Charlie Lewis, Dublin, Georgia; one sister: Ms. Valeria Moye, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two brothers: Mr. Jimmy (Zelta) Walker, Mr. Henry (Mary) Walker, Allentown, Pennsylvania; five sisters-in-law: Mrs. Eva Mae (Robert) Holmes, Mrs. Mary Lizzie (Hubert) Cato, Minister Bessie Mae (Willie James) Hall, Mrs. Mary Helen (Charles) Landers, Minister Geneva (Ralph) Dixon, Harrison, Georgia; three brothers-in-law: Mr. John Henry Irwin, Mr. David (Katherine) Irwin, Harrison, Georgia, Bishop Dock (Linda) Irwin, Milledgeville, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; twenty five great-great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
