Mrs. Mary Lizzie Wright

Mrs. Mary Lizzie Wright, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Fire Brand Fellowship Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ which is located at 1430 Highway 15 North in Sandersville, Georgia with Rev. Wallace Smith officiating. Interment was held in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Wright was born May 19, 1928 to the late Mrs. Luevenia King Harris.

She attended Beech Grove School in Tennille, GA and furthered her education at a private boarding school also in Tennille.

In 1949, she married the late Mr. Charles Wright, and this union was blessed with five girls.

She worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation and retired in 1990. Everyday before work, Mama would go to McDonalds, take them food, minister and pray for people.

She was a member of Temple of Praise Church in Sandersville where she attended faithfully until she moved to Snellville, where she attended Church of the Redeemer.

Mama touched everyone who crossed her path. She will be remembered by her contagious smile. She loved feeding people and anyone could come to her house, go in the freezer and get anything they wanted. Her favorite pass time was being with her family, telling jokes, reading and dancing. Believe it or not, she could “cut a rug.”

She was preceded in death by her sister: Ms. Ollie Mae Gilmore; brother: Mr. Levonia King and her beloved cat: Sweetie.

Mrs. Wright is survived by her children: Mrs. Charlene (Henry Al) Wilson, Mrs. Luevenia (Walter) Wiley, Sr., Mrs. Shirley Ann (William) Gardner, Ms. Mary Frances Wright, Ms. Jakki Wright (Robert Campbell) ; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; several other relatives and friends.
