Mrs. Johnson was born February 14, 1928 to the late Ms. Macedonia Middleton and the granddaughter of the late Ms. Susie L. Middleton.

She graduated from Thomas Jefferson Elder High School in 1946. Later she attended Savannah State College and Fort Valley State College where she studied education. Addie taught school for a few years before she returned to college and received a Certificate in Food Service. She was employed by Washington County Board of Education as a Lunchroom Manager where she served for thirty nine years. She achieved many outstanding awards for her dedicated service and ability to provide nutritious meals to the students.
