Mr. Rudolph Kitchens


Mr. Rudolph Kitchens departed this life on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Augusta University Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. from Second Mineral Spring Baptist Church wit Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.

Mr. Kitchens was born on April 15, 1928, to the parentage of the late Mr. John B. Kitchens and the late Mrs. Claudia Lawrence Kitchens. He was the eighth of nine children.

Rudolph attended the local community schools. On June 15, 1957 he married Mrs. Virgin Mary Flemming Kitchens, and to this union they were blessed with five children. At an early age Mr. Kitchens joined Second Mineral Spring Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his health declined. He was a retired logger and loved going to church.

He was preceded in death by all eight of his siblings: J.C., James, Wilburn, Herbert, Clayton, Jewell, Gladys, Ida Mae, and three sons; Clifford, Claude, and Marvin.

Mr. Kitchens leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife: Mrs. Virgin Mary Flemming Kitchens, Sandersville, GA; one daughter: Ms. Mary Kitchens, Sandersville, GA; one son: Mr. Jerry Kitchens, Milledgeville, GA; one step sister: Ms. Mattie Mae Warthen, Sparta, GA; two grandchildren: Mr. Monterrious Kitchens, Sandersville, GA, Mr. Travis (Jazzmin) Kitchens, Abbeville, GA; two great grandchildren: Mr. Ashton Kitchens, Mr. Gabrieal Taylor, Eastman, GA; three sisters-in-law: Ms. Maggie Daniel, Ms. Milas Flemming, Sandersville, GA, Mrs. Willie Ruth (Andrew) Jackson, Sr., Warthen, GA; one brother-in-law: Mr. Harvey Flemming, Warthen, GA; two devoted nieces: Ms. Glorious Riddle, Riddleville, GA; Mrs. Judy (Joe) Carrol, Jacksonville, FL; devoted cousins: Mrs. Dorothy Ruth Hatcher and family, Sandersville, GA; devoted nephew: Mr. Daris Braddy, Harrisburg, PA; devoted friend and neighbor: Mr. Aaron Evans, Sandersville, GA; a host of other relatives and friends. M. C. Smith Funeral Home was in charge.
