Mrs. Claudia Flemming

Mrs. Claudia Flemming, Warthen, Georgia, departed this life on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Augusta University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. Graveside services were held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Mount Olive Baptist Church., Warthen, Georgia with Rev. Christopher Watkins, officiating. Rev. Corian Roberson, Pastor

She was born on November 13, 1921 in Washington County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mrs. Claudia Allen Burten and the late Mr. Robert Brown.

At an early age, she joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. M.W. Wiley. She grew up in Washington County and was educated in the public school systems of Washington and Hancock Counties. For higher education, she attended The Log Cabin Center. Mrs. Claudia was an elementary school teacher for Washington County public school system from 1943 until 1947.

In 1940, she married the late Mr. Charlie B. Flemming. To this union nine children were born and three of them preceded her in death: infant baby girl Mary, Ms. Doris Flemming and Mr. Charlie B. Flemming, Jr.

Mrs. Flemming leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters: Ms. Agnes Flemming, Ms. Martha Flemming, Mrs. Marilyn Engram, Warthen, Georgia, Mrs. Carolyn Billings, Carrollton, Georgia; two sons: Mr. Kenneth Flemming, Mr. Randy Flemming, Warthen, Georgia; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
