Ms. Annie P. Brooks




Ms. Annie P. Brooks, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at her residence. Graveside services were held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Cecil Moore officiating.


She was born on June 8, 1956, the sixth of eight children to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie Brooks, Jr. and the late Mrs. Precious Duggans Brooks.


Annie attended the public schools of Washington County. She was a member of the 1974 graduating class of Washington County High School.


After high school graduation, she joined the U.S. Army and served from April 6, 1974 until August 25, 1977.


After completing her term of military service, she returned home to begin her career as a food service attendant at DD Crawford Elementary School and later joined the team at Smith Nursing Home. After working for several years of dedicated service she decided to go home to attend her ailing mother.


She was preceded in death by two sisters: Ms. Mattie Bell Brooks, Mrs. Gail Elizabeth Brooks Durden and one brother: Mr. Willie Kelly Brooks, Sr.


Ms. Brooks leaves to cherish her memories, three sisters: Ms. Emma Brooks Martin, Ms. Clara King, Sandersville, Georgia, Mrs. Sarah (Dennis) Thompson, Augusta, Georgia; one brother: Mr. Sylvester (Linda) Brooks, Atlanta, Georgia; devoted niece: Mrs. Debra (Keith) Phillips, Atlanta, Georgia; godson: Mr. Evan Keith Phillips, Atlanta, Georgia; devoted companion: Mr. Willie James Griner, Sandersville, Georgia; devoted cousins: Ms. Ester Brooks, Ms. Keisha Brooks, Mrs. Yolanda Michelle Johnson-Frazier, Sandersville, Georgia; devoted friends: Ms. Dorothy Swint, Ms. Mary Ann Edwards, Ms. Tammy Brown, Ms. Charlene Duggan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
