Mr. Owen Montaque

Mr. Owen Montaque, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at a local hospital. Services were held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Owen “Jamaica” Montaque was born on May 4, 1958 to the parentage of Mr. Sanford Montaque and the late Mrs. Leonora Montaque, in Chesterfield, England and grew up in Jamaica.

Upon his arrival in the United States, he lived in Atlantic City, New Jersey and worked as a Blackjack Dealer. He enjoyed driving and had a longing for the open road, so he obtained his CDLs and spent many years as a Big Truck Driver. When he was no longer able to drive, he became the owner of M&M Auto Repair and Tire.

Mr. Montaque loved to cook and he enjoyed playing music and entertaining people as DJ Boogie Man. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Mr. Montaque leaves behind his wife of twenty eight (28) years: Mrs. Rosalie Montaque; seven children: Ms. Kasey-Ann Montaque-Harris, Ms. Andrea Montaque, Mr. Jerome Montaque, Mr. Cameron Higgs, Ms. Ashleigh Gray, Mr. Marion A. Wells, Ms. Cashana Davis-Douglas; three sisters: Ms. Maple Montaque, Ms. Angela Montaque-Williams, Ms. Monica Montaque-Gerber; four brothers: Mr. Simon Montaque, Mr. Vernon Montaque, Mr. Basil Montaque, Mr. Roger Montaque; fourteen grandchildren: Jayden, Caleb, Adriana, Shanalee, JaVaughn, Shemar, Amanda, Dadrian, Triston, Jordan, Madison, Kaleb, Nicholas, Semaj; thirty two (32) nieces and nephews; five sisters-in-law; a host of other family members and friends.
