Mr. Freddie Lee Wiley
During the wee hours on Friday, August 12, 2022, Mr. Freddie Lee Wiley transitioned from his earthly home and slipped away to his eternal heavenly home. . Graveside services were held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Mount Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Walden officiating.
Mr. Freddie Lee Wiley, affectionately known as “Wolf”, was born on September 17, 1948 to the parentage of the late Mr. Wyman Wiley and the late Mrs. Leoner “Sister” Wiley in Warthen, Georgia. He was the third of nine children and the first born son.
Living on a farm, Fred learned at an early age to cook, clean and work to help take care of the family.
He joined and was baptized at the Mount Olive Baptist Church where he remained an active member.
After graduating from T.J. Elder High School with the Class of 1968, Freddie embarked on a variety of jobs over the years. These included: Central Packing Meat Company, where he learned the art of butchering; Walker Dairy Farm and the Washington County Recreation Department where he retired after many years of dedicated service to the community.
Fred was united in holy matrimony to the late Ms. Jennie Bell. This union was blessed with the birth of two sons, Bryant and Ryan who over the years accompanied their dad almost everywhere he went.
Although Fred was somewhat shy and a man of few words, the words that he spoke were very powerful and left no room for misinterpretation; “NO always meant NO.’ He was very generous and often helped his family and neighbors when the need arose, especially if a cook or butcher was needed. Also, like his mother, he was an avid fisherman who fished every chance he got.
Freddie Lee was preceded in death by a sister: Ms. Stella Baker; a brother: Mr. Willie James Wiley and daughter-in-law: Mrs. Keiana Wiley.
Mr. Wiley leaves cherished memories with his sons: Mr. Bryant Wiley, Mr. Ryan (Claudia) Wiley; two grandchildren: Isabella Wiley, Jeremy DeShawn Klein; four sisters: Ms. Earlean Young, Ms. Verdell King, Ms. Jeanette Scott, Mrs. Lena (Dennis) Jones; two brothers: Mr. Tommie Wiley, Mr. Donnie (Ida) Wiley; two aunts: Ms. Cora Lee Braddy, Ms. Magalene Wiley; one sister-in-law: Ms. Ruby Williams; special cousin/friend: Mr. Napolean Castleberry; godson: Mr. Anthony Wiley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
