Evangelist Larry Elbert







Evangelist Larry Elbert, Wrightsville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at China Temple Holiness Church in Wrightsville, Georgia with Rev. James Blair officiating. Interment was held in Mason Cemetery located at 497 Sheppard Road, Bartow, Georgia.


Mr. Elbert was born on June 08, 1952 to the parentage of the late Mr. Louis Bobby Elbert and Ms. Lille Mae Underwood.


He attended the Dock Kemp school and graduated with the class of 1971. He was also a certificate grad of 1983 from Central Georgia Technical College.


At an early age, Mr. Elbert began working at Buckeye Industries. He worked there until 1985 when he became a forklift driver at Kamin. He worked for over thirty (30) years and retired in May 2016 as a lead man. After      retirement he worked part time at Johnson County Landfill until his illness.


Mr. Elbert loved to barbeque, cook, fish, shop, entertain and eat. Of all the things he loved to do, he loved to praise the Lord.


He was preceded in death by his sisters: Ms. Willie Rose Elbert, Ms. Jackie Joe Gibbons, Ms. Lillie Rose Robinson, Ms. Helen Mae Johnson; brothers: Mr. Tony Elbert, Mr. Danny Elbert, Mr. Robby Elbert, Mr. Jimmy Elbert and his first wife of forty two (42) years: Mrs. Marsheila  Mason Elbert.


Evangelist Elbert leaves cherished memories to his wife: Mrs. Dorothy Lee Whitaker Elbert; children: Mr. Harold (Marilyn) Lemon, Mr. Wynkanus (Latosha) Elbert, Ms. Viva Elbert, Ms. Icicley Elbert; stepchildren: Mr. Albert Nelson, Jr., Ms. Sharon Farmer, Ms. Malessia Nelson; sisters: Ms. Mary Elbert, Ms. Alice Jean Jefferies;  brothers: Mr. Bobby (Jacqueline) Elbert, Mr. Loran     Elbert, Mr. John (Dorothy) Elbert, Mr. Freddie (Dathery) Elbert; grandchildren: Harold Lemon, Shakira Lemon, Harolon Lemon, Alesha (Michael) Nolan, Bryttani  Elbert, Christian Elbert; great grandchildren: Braylen Lemon, Sa’Ryia Lemon, Kai Nolan; godchildren: Ms. Angela King, Ms. Felisha Boatwright, Ms. Maranda Benefield, Ms. Marria Brewster; spiritual daughter: Ms. Tosha Evans; a host of other relatives and friends.
