Deacon David E. Lee


Deacon David E. Lee passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Oconee Health and Rehabilitation. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Pine Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Murray officiating.


He was born on August 22, 1928 to the parentage of the late Ms. Marietta Salter.


Deacon Lee was educated in the public school system of Washington County.


He was united in holy matrimony to the former Ms. Vera Swint whom preceded him in death.


At an early age he joined Pine Hill Baptist Church where he served on the deacon board.


He moved to New York for several years before relocating back to Davisboro, Georgia.


Mr. Lee was a truck driver and sold fish in the community for many years. He took pride in being an accomplished cook and was also a well known story teller and jokester. He was also a member of St. Andrews Masonic Lodge #32 and a former member of the Sandersville-Tennille Optimist Club.


He was preceded in death by his sister: Mrs. Pearlie Mae Roberts and brother: Mr. Willie T. Jackson.

Deacon Lee leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted niece: Ms. Dorothy Jackson, Wadley, Georgia; daughter: Mrs. Jacquelyn (Minister Floyd) Walker, Tennille, Georgia; sister: Mrs. Geraldine Hall Ingram, Davisboro, Georgia; sister-in-law: Mrs. Addie L. Jackson, Wadley, Georgia; brother-in-law: Mr. Eugene Dawson, Warren, Ohio; nieces and nephews: Ms. Geneva Kendrick, Morrow, Georgia, Mrs. Natisha (Antonio) Reese, Wadley, Georgia, Mrs. Tonya (Jimmie) Sanders, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Eddie (Mary) Roberts, Harrison, Georgia, Mr. Irvin (Marcia) Roberts, Hephzibah, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.
