Ms. Ruth Middleton
Ms. Ruth Middleton, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia. Graveside services were held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Holly Spring Baptist Church, Warthen, Georgia with Rev. Frank Smith officiating.
She was born on July 20, 1936 to the late Ms. Macedonia Middleton and the granddaughter of the late Ms. Susie L. Middleton.
Ms. Middleton graduated from Thomas Jefferson Elder High School in 1956. In 1958, she attended cosmetology school in Augusta, Georgia. For years she had a salon in Davisboro. After the closing of the salon, she traveled to homes in the community to do hair for seniors who could not drive.
She enjoyed clipping recipes from the local newspaper to sample.
At an early age, she joined Holly Spring Baptist Church. Ruth was a member of the choir and was formerly an Eastern Star. She worked with the membership committee at Jordan Grove Baptist Church, Davisboro, GA. Ruth also worked at Walmart in Sandersville, GA for ten years.
She was preceded in death by her sisters: Mrs. Fleda Middleton Stapleton, Mrs. Carrie Myzeal Middleton Walker, Mrs. Addie L. Middleton Johnson, Mrs. Addie Smith, Mrs. Mamie Smith, Ms. Susie M. Middleton; brothers: Mr. Emanuel Adams, Mr. Arthur C. Adams, Mr. Henry Yorker, Mr. Horace Yorker, Mr. Lonnie Yorker, Mr. Willie W. Yorker, Mr. Eddie L. Yorker, Mr. Jessie Yorker, Mr. Jimmy Adams, Mr. Lee Adams and Mr. Ennis Yorker, Jr.
Ms. Middleton leaves to cherish and mourn her passing, two brothers: Rev. Eddie L. (Evelyn) Yorker, Daytona Beach, FL, Mr. James “JD” Yorker, Atlanta, Georgia; six sisters: Ms. Margaret Duggan, Ms. Ella Bell Wilson, Daytona Beach, Florida, Ms. Mammie Hardwick, Ms. Annie N. Giles, Milwaukie Wisconsin, Ms. Rosella Adams, Davisboro, Georgia, Mrs. Lotis Yorker Wright, Wrightsville, Georgia; nieces: Mrs. Susie M. Cochran, Davisboro, Georgia, Mrs. Patricia M. (Charles) Anderson, Savannah, Georgia, Ms. Annie Lois Walker, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Rosa M. Walker, Ret. SFC Massie L. Walker, Lithonia, Georgia, Mrs. Gloria J. James, Conyers, Georgia, Ms. Eloise Young, Elizabeth, New Jersey; nephews: Mr. Ronnie (Ollie) Middleton, Mr. Dennis, (Arlene) Smith, Mr. Oliver D.
