Mrs. Marie Rolling

Mrs. Marie Rolling, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Wrightsville Manor Nursing Home, Wrightsville, Georgia. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 11:00 at Kingdom Life Fellowship Ministries, Harrison, Georgia with Elder Patricia Middleton officiating.

She was born on June 1, 1933 in Washington County, Georgia to the late Mr. Charles Jones and the late Mrs. Marie Jones. She had four siblings; Mr. Charles Jones, Jr., Mrs. Connie Coates, Mrs. Mary Lillian Jackson and Ms. Carrabel Jones, all of whom preceded her in death.

Her mother passed away when she was very young and her father re-married Ms. Buana Sylvester Gonder. From this union she had five siblings; Mr. Wayne Jones, Mr. Charles Jones, Ms. Brenda Short, and two deceased, Mrs. Loretta Williams and Mr. Tyrone Jones.

Mrs. Rolling attended school in Washington County and relocated to Washington D.C.

On June 29, 1952, she married the love of her life, the late Mr. Walter Louis Rolling of Sandersville, Georgia. To this union, two children were born.

Mrs. Rolling had a variety of jobs. She was employed as a sales clerk, a telephone operator and a teacher’s aide for a special education program in Yonkers, New York.

In 1978, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She attended Trinity Baptist Church and Glad Tidings Church, Bronx, New York.

Upon Mr. Rolling’s retirement from UPS, they relocated back to Sandersville, Georgia. She attended and joined the Redeemed Church under the leadership of Pastor Alma May. The church later merged with the church in Harrison, Georgia and was re-named Kingdom Life Fellowship Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Clifford Duckworth, Sr.

She grew in her faith and dedication to the Lord. She became a missionary and minister focusing on outreach. For many years, she headed a team of dedicated workers to bring church service to nursing homes in the Washington County area.

Mrs. Rolling leaves to mourn her departure, one son: Mr. Allah Freedom, Bronx, New York; one daughter: Mrs. Patricia Middleton, Sandersville, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. Wayne Jones, Washington, DC, Mr. Charles Jones, Maryland; two sisters: Ms. Brenda Short, Ms. Loretta Williams, Maryland; daughter-in-law: Mrs. C-Asia Freedom; nine grandchildren: Nigeria Ford, Arabia McBurney, Quanisha Reid, Kemi Bright, Lara Wilson, Makeba Hudson, Divine Rolling, Allah Freedom Rolling, Jason, Bowies; aunt: Mrs. Annie Ruth Shuford, Manhattan, New York; three cousins: Mrs. Ernestine Jenkins Brantley, Ms. Cynthia Andrews, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Harriet Rolling, Augusta, Georgia; two god-daughters: Ms. Jackie Thomas, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Amy Fair, Bronx, New York; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She will be greatly missed. M.C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
