Mother Blanche Paradise

Mother Blanche Paradise, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at ManorCare Healthy Services in Yeadon, Pennsylvania. Graveside services were held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Green Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin Hatcher officiating.

Mother Paradise was born on August 22, 1920, in Sandersville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. George and Mrs. Bessie Paradise. She was the tenth of twelve children born into that union. All of her siblings preceded her in death.

Blanche accepted Christ at the early age of twelve and joined Green Grove Baptist Church. In 1944, she moved to Philadelphia. In 1949, she moved her membership to The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith. She was a faithful worker and especially loved working with the senior citizens. She never refused a task because she was already too busy or because she was too tired.

Today, we are silent to pay tribute to a person who has lived among us as one who went about doing good and who always put Christ first in everything she did. During her later years, she leaned heavenly on the Lord, calling upon Him to help her bear the pain when many times she could have called upon her loved ones but refused to do so knowing they were already over-burdened.

Blanche was a lovable character, a person everyone chose to have as a friend and willing to be a friend to all. She never pushed herself forward, but always stayed in the background working and praying and doing whatever she was called upon to do for her Master.

On April 14, 2020, this woman of excellence made her transition to freedom. Blanche is now free to go home and reunite with her siblings that she missed so dearly.

Mother Paradise leaves to cherish her life six nieces: Ms. Louise O’hara, Ms. Mary Alice Rickets, Ms. Ruby Brown, Ms. Irene Latimer, Mrs. Betty McCaskell, Ms. Helen Paradise; three nephews; Mr. Albert Latimer, Mr. Leroy Latimer, Mr. George Harden; a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. M.C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
