Mrs. Henrietta "Fennie" Dixon


Mrs. Henrietta Dixon, affectionately known as "Fennie", passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Serenity Place Hospice in Dublin, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Sandersville, Georgia with Rev. Jerry Walden officiating. Interment was held at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

She was born on August 9, 1930 in Washington County Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Gordon, Sr. and the late Mrs. Susie Atkins Gordon.

At an early age, she joined Henderson Grove AME Church in Sandersville, Georgia. She attended the public schools of Washington County.

Mrs. Dixon was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Willie “June” Dixon. This union was blessed with two children. For many years, she was employed by Royal Manufacturer Company.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Mrs. Cora Lee Smith, Ms. Susie Mae Gordon; two brothers: Mr. Henry Gordon, Jr. and Mr. John Willie Gordon, Sr.

Mrs. Dixon leaves cherished memories to her daughter: Ms. Annie Dixon Hunter, Sandersville, Georgia; one sister: Ms. Sarah Gordon, Bronx, New York; eight grandchildren: Mrs. Pamela Hunter (Randy) Young, Columbia, South Carolina, Ms. Kim Hunter Rapp, Mr. George Lee Hunter, Jr., Mrs. Natalie (Broderick) Golar, Mr. Willie Lee Dixon, Jr., Mr. Phillip Dixon, Sandersville, Georgia, Mrs. Felicsia (Jeffery) Ford, Winston Salem, North Carolina, Ms. Lavern Dixon, Newark, New Jersey; three devoted great grandchildren: Ms. Bianca Asha’ Young, Duluth, Georgia, Mr. Justin Jamal Rapp, Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Quincy Alexander Rapp, Sandersville, Georgia; two devoted nieces: Mrs. Joyce Ann (Willie) Gardner, Ms. Judy Jeanette, Sandersville, Georgia; four nephews: Mr. Smith Harris, III, Augusta, Georgia, Mr. Earl Gordon, Milledgeville, Georgia, Mr. John Willie Gordon, Jr., Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Verlton Gordon, Bronx, New York; three special friends: Ms. Diana Johnson, Mr. Michael Stubbs, Ms. Bobbie Mae Evans, Sandersville, Georgia; a host of other great grandchildren; relatives and friends.
