Mrs. Maxine Harris

Mrs. Maxine Harris passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Smith Medical Nursing Care Center. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Galilee Baptist Church, Sandersville, Georgia with Rev. Manzie Broxton, officiating. Interment was held in the Sandersville City Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.

Mrs. Harris was born on September 8, 1933 to the parentage of the late Mr. Virgil Mathis and the late Mrs. Juliette Williams Mathis.

She worked as a Dietician at Sandersville Elementary School for thirty years before retirement. Maxie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. William A. Harris, Sr.; two daughters: Ms. Brenda Harris and Ms. Pendric Harris.

Mrs. Harris leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters: Ms. Annie Louise Harris, Sandersville, Georgia, Mrs. Robin (Rodney) Griffin, Loganville, Georgia, Ms. Shelia Harris, Suwanee, Georgia; two sons: Mr. William A. Harris, Jr., Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Cleveland (Christy) Harris, Sr., Stone Mountain, Georgia; one sister: Mrs. Thelma M. Jackson, Conyers, Georgia; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. M.C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
