Mrs. Delilah P. James

Mrs. Delilah P. James passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 2:30 P.M. at Middle Hill Baptist Church, Warthen, Georgia. Interment was held in church cemetery.

She was born on May 27, 1958 in Dublin, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. George Lee Reeves, Sr. and Mrs. Mamie Lee Wiley Reeves.

Mrs. James graduated from Washington County High School and went on to further her education at Fort Valley State College and Oconee Fall Line Technical College. She worked at Royal Mfg. Co., Saint Gobain, Trojan Battery, and Nightingale Home Health Care.

She lived a life of service as the youth choir director at First Community Baptist Church and was a part of the gospel singing group, “Angels of Mercy,” for over twenty years. She was a seamstress at heart. Everyone knew her as kind, giving and life of the party.

Mrs. James leaves to cherish her memories, her husband: Mr. Benny Frank James, Tennille, Georgia; mother: Mrs. Mamie Lee Reeves, Sandersville, Georgia; daughter: Mrs. Natasha (Sheldon) Andrews, Tennille, Georgia; stepdaughter: Ms. Tabitha Gilmore, Atlanta, Georgia, stepson: Mr. Timothy James, Mississippi; three sisters: Ms. Alicia Brown, Mrs. Lillian (Ronnie) Cooper, Ms. Betty Griner, Sandersville, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. Alonzo Reeves, Mr. George Lee (Pearl) Reeves, II, Sandersville, Georgia; six brothers-in-law: Mr. Melvin James, Alabama, Mr. Cleveland James, McDonough, Georgia, Mr. Marshall James, Augusta, Georgia, Mr. Tommy (Linda) James, Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Walter James, Milledgeville, Georgia, Mr. Grady James, Nebraska; six grandchildren: Ms. Porsha Austin, Mrs. Karlicia (Napolean) Jenkins, Mrs. India (Demarcus) Holsey, Ms. Tiara Austin, Mr. Sheldreon Andrews, Mrs. Twanshella (Victor) Leathers; ten great grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
