Mrs. Ida Mae Johnson

Mrs. Ida Mae Johnson, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at New Light Christian Fellowship Church, Warthen, Georgia with Apostle Tom Walker officiating. Interment was held in church cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was born on May 5, 1934 to the parentage of the late Mr. Freddie Hatcher and the late Mrs. Lois Chain Hatcher.

She worked at Central State Hospital for six years and drove school buses for Washington County Public Schools for thirty years before retiring.

Mrs. Johnson enjoyed fishing and doing home renovations. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was called the sweetest grandmother by all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Clyde Johnson; one daughter: Ms. Shirley Hubert; two sons: Mr. Freddie Cosby, Sr., Mr. Richard Cosby; two grandchildren: Mr. Freddie Hubert, Mr. Kerry Walker; one sister: Mrs. Betty Cummings; two brothers: Mr. Ellis Hatcher and Mr. Charlie Hatcher.

Mrs. Johnson leaves to cherish her memories two daughters: Mrs. Jeanette (David) Wilcher, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Josephine Johnson, Monroe, Georgia; one sister: Ms. Lorene Hatcher, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two brothers: Mr. John Hatcher, Warthen, Georgia, Mr. James (Janet) Alexander, Augusta, Georgia; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Dorothy Hatcher, Ms. Vassie Hatcher, Sandersville, Georgia; twenty two grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; devoted friend: Mr. Richard Harris; devoted grandchild: Mr. Willie David Neal, Jr.; devoted niece: Ms. Elaine Burton; caregivers: Ms. Stanyjah Neal, Mr. Joseph Wilcher, Mr. Jason Neal, Jr., Ms. Kelly Banks; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
