Mr. Walker Lee Reaves, Jr.


Mr. Walker Lee Reaves, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in Hallandale, Florida. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Bold Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Roberson officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.

He was born on December 11, 1945 in Sandersville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Walker Lee Reaves, Sr. and the late Mrs. Bertha Swint Reaves.

Mr. Reaves joined Bold Spring Baptist Church at an early age.

He was a 1964 graduate of T.J. Elder High School. Immediately after graduation, he joined the military and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After his discharge from the military he resided in Hallandale, Florida.

Mr. Reaves enjoyed watching sports, family gatherings and keeping his lawn cut.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Mrs. Sarah Reaves Brookins, Mrs. Mary Francis Jackson and one brother: Mr. Eddie Lee Reaves.

Mr. Reaves leaves cherished memories to his devoted wife: Mrs. Mary Jones Reaves, Hallandale, Florida; four daughters: Ms. Anissa Reaves, Valdosta, Georgia, Mrs. Sherrie Goosby, Ms. Sharonda Haynes, Mrs. Tanitra Haynes-Hampton, Hallandale, Florida; one son: Mr. Nathaniel Mitchell, Jr., Hallandale, Florida; two sisters: Mrs. Pearl Blackshear, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Jean Ollie Brown, West Palm Beach, Florida; one aunt: Ms. Ollie Williams, Atlanta, Georgia; three devoted nieces: Ms. Angela Reaves, Ms. Shirley Reaves, Ms. Wanda Reaves, Sandersville, Georgia; devoted nephew: Mr. Franklin Jackson, Jr., Sandersville, GA; devoted great nephew: Mr. Roderick (Nekeria) Roberson; devoted friend: Mr. Dell Andrews, Sandersville, Georgia; seven sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
