Ms. Jennie Smith Hodges

Ms. Jennie Smith Hodges passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Abundant Life Miracle Deliverance Center with Elder Jessie Mountain officiating. Interment was held in Second Mineral Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was born on September 29, 1955 to the parentage of Mr. B.C. Reeves and the late Mrs. Mary Sue Hodges.

Ms. Hodges attended the public schools of Bibb County and was a graduate of the General Equivalent Degree Program in Harrisburg, PA.At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ.

She was a member of Abundant Life Miracle Deliverance Center where she was a faithful member. Jennie was currently employed by Washington County Regional Medical Center Extended Care Facility as a devoted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She was previously employed by Keystone Human Services in Pennsylvania where she worked for nine years as a Foster Care Parent and Respite Worker and also as a Dietary Aide for the Harrisburg School District.

Ms. Hodges enjoyed listening to a variety of gospel music, gardening, taking long walks and reaching out to others throughout her community. As a result of her generous spirit, she was loved by many. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather: Mr. John W. Hodges, Sr.; grandparents: Mrs. Carmelia Smith, Mr. Hubert Smith, Mrs. Texann Reeves, Mr. I.V. Reeves, Sr.; uncles: Mr. John Edward (Naomi) Smith, Mr. Willie C. Smith, Mr. Gene A. Smith, Mr. Thomas Reeves and stepmother: Mrs. Edith Reeves.

Her wonderful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Mr. Maurice (Angela) Hodges, Sr., Ms. Shakiah Hodges, Ms. Angelica Hodges, Harrisburg, PA; three grandchildren: Markiah Hodges-Brooks, Maurice Hodges, Jr., Mayah Hodges; father: Mr. B.C. Reeves, Sandersville, GA; three sisters: Ms. Zucchini Hodges, Ms. Pamela Hodges, Atlanta, GA, Ms. Debbie Hodges, Harrisburg, PA; four brothers: Mr. John W. (Mary) Hodges, Chester, VA, Mr. Henry L. Hodges, Mr. Harry B.
