Mrs. Elaine Pledge

Ms. Elaine Pledge, Tennille, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Georgia Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Grissom officiating. Interment was held in church cemetery.

She was born on September 26, 1919 to the parentage of the late Mr. Barry Gordon and Mrs. Cleora Gordon.

At an early age Ms. Pledge joined Georgia Grove Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her health failed. She was employed at Tennille Elementary School lunchroom until retirement.

Ms. Pledge enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She had a passion for helping and feeding people.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Mr. Calvin Gordon, Mr. Roger Pledge; one daughter, Mrs. Nina Washington; three brothers: Mr. K. P. Gordon, Mr. Lucious Gordon, Mr. Sammy Gordon; five sisters: Mrs. Emma Lou Davis, Mrs. Gladys Scott, Mrs. Berry Lee Gordon, Mrs. Lillie Bell (Emery) Wright, Mrs. Kathyrn Gordon.

She will be truly missed.

Ms. Pledge leaves to cherish her memories, three sons: Mr. Bernard (Nancy) Gordon, Calhoun, Georgia, Mr. Coleman (Annie) Gordon, Mattapan, Maschusetts, Mr. Ronnie Pledge, Tennille, Georgia; three daughters: Mrs. Ruth Gordon, Mrs. Linda Young, Tennille, Georgia, Mrs. Carolyn (Herbert) Miller, Miami, Florida; thirty two (32) grandchildren; fifty eight (58) great grandchildren; thirty four (34) great-great grandchildren; three (3) great-great-great grandchildren; ten (10) nephews; seventeen (17) nieces; a devoted friend, Mrs. Mamie Scott; several other relatives and friends.
