Mr. Esau Rachels

Mr. Esau Rachels, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Shamrock Nursing Home, Dublin, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, Sandersville, Georgia with Rev. Henry L. Tanner officiating. Interment will be held in the city cemetery.

He was born on January 14, 1949 to the parentage of the late Mr. Dock Rachels, Sr. and the late Mrs. Lena Mae Rachels.

Mr. Rachels attended T. J. Elder High School. He was a truck driver for many years. After his health failed and he was no longer able to drive trucks, he started his own lawn and garden service.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Lillie Ruth Rachels; two sisters: Ms. Mary Ann Bell, Ms. Helen Russell and one stepson: Mr. Walter Lovett.

Mr. Rachels leaves to cherish his memories one daughter: Ms. Michelle Hicks, Tennille, GA; three sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth (Kenneth) Foster, Sr., Ms. Rochelle Rachels, Decatur, GA, Mrs. Louise (Eugene) Cannida; three brothers: Mr. Dock Rachels, Jr., Augusta, GA, Mr. Willie James (Linda) Rachels, Tennille, GA, Mr. Clifford Rachels, Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren: Ms. Cachevyette Hicks, Ms. Yassarriah Hagans, Tennille, GA, Mr. Tommika (Derrianna) Wright, Mr. Tommy (Brittany) Wright, Sandersville, GA; five step children: Mrs. Mary (Barry) Gladdin, Ms. Tomiko Hicks, Ms. Barbara Hicks, Mrs. Lillie (Zimmie) Warthen, Mr. Clarence Hicks; six great grandchildren: Dheareon, Cashayla, Derriana, Trinity, Tommika, Jr., Kingston; devoted friends: Mr. Ken Kyzer, Mr. Andy (Beverly) Webb, Mr. Charles Frank Thompson, Mr. Joe Greene; a host of other relatives and friends.
