Mrs. Vera B. Tillman
Mrs. Vera B. Tillman, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 in Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Green Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Lewis officiating. Interment was held in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in state from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
She was born on May 20, 1943 to the parentage of the late Mr. Robert Bloodsaw and the late Mrs. Ella Pearl Duckworth Bloodsaw, in Washington County, Georgia.
She attended the public schools of Washington County.
Mrs. Tillman was a member of Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as choir president for many years. She was employed with Spring City Knitting for twenty years and Delta Apparel.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. James A. Tillman on August 1, 1959. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Ms. Adel Bloodsaw, Mrs. Mary L. Tillman; three brothers: Mr. Edward Bloodsaw, Mr. Jimmy Bloodsaw, Mr. Donald Warthen; infant son: Baby Gregory Tillman.
Mrs. Tillman leaves to cherish her memories, two sons: Mr. James (Lily) Bloodsaw, Mr. Glenn (Rotenia) Tillman, Sandersville, Georgia; three daughters: Ms. Sharon Tillman, Mrs. Cynthia (Larry) Cato, Sandersville, Georgia, Mrs. Michelle (Derrick) Crawford, Griffin, Georgia; four brothers: Mr. Charles (Betty) Bloodsaw, Mr. Larry Bloodsaw, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. George (Helen) James, Sr., Tennille, Georgia, Mr. Earl James, Sparta, Georgia; one aunt: Ms. Emma Lou Bloodsaw, Miami, Florida; one brother-in-law: Mr. Curtis (Mary) Tillman, Sandersville, Georgia; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Elnora Bloodsaw, Mrs. Eva Tillman, Sandersville, Georgia; three devoted grandchildren: Mr. Ronnie Tillman, Ms. Tiffany Tillman, Mr. James Bloodsaw, Jr., Sandersville, Georgia; two devoted cousins: Mr. Julius Jones, Ms. Carolyn Wiley; devoted friends: Mr. Allen (Anne) Hodges and family; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
