Ms. Joanne Carswell

Ms. Joanne Carswell, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia with her kids by her side. Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Union Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Lindra Fleming officiating. Interment was held in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. The body lied in state from 12 Noon until the hour of the service.

Ms. Carswell was born on July 26, 1962 to the parentage of the late Mr. Celester Carswell and the late Mrs. Ethel Mae Gilbert-Carswell. She was the third of eight children.

Joanne attended the public school system of Washington County and was a graduate of Washington County High School in the class of 1980.

She was a life long resident of Tennille, GA. She was a joyful person whom nourished everyone around her with love. She enjoyed family gatherings and laughing with her friends. Until her health began to decline, she worked at various companies.

Ms. Carswell leaves to honor and remember her love three daughters: Ms. Jessica Carswell, Tennille, GA, Ms. Shordae Carswell, Milledgeville, GA, Mrs. Adrianna (Charles) McGhee, Albany, GA; one son: Mr. Jimmy Williams, Jr., Tennille; four grandchildren: Christian Carswell, Janiyah Jones, Taraji Lee, Charles McGhee, Jr.; GA; three sisters: Mrs. Mary Ann (Neil) Watson, Milledgeville, GA, Ms. April Carswell, Tennille, GA, Mrs. Delois (Eric) Jordan, Sandersville, GA; four brothers: Mr. Glenn (Berean) Gilbert, Milledgeville, GA, Mr. Charlie (Deborah) Gilbert, Mr. Lester (Minnie) Carswell, Tennille, GA, Mr. Willie (Angela) Carswell, Sandersville, GA; six aunts: Ms. Rosa Stanley, Ms. Eloise James, Ms. Ceola Jackson, Ms. Dorothy Ramsey, Augusta, GA, Ms. Artelia Dixon, Sandersville, GA, Ms. Juanita Laster, Haines City, FL; four uncles: Mr. Stevie Gilbert, Augusta, GA, Mr. Tommie Gilbert, Mr. Thomas Carswell, Sandersville, GA, Mr. Tommie Carswell, Oconee, Ga; devoted friends: Mr. Jimmy Williams, Sr., Ms. Ressie Mae Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
