Mrs. Dianne Rogers
Mrs. Dianne Rogers passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Springfield Baptist Church with Bishop Eddie Mincey, Sr. officiating. Interment was held in Brownwood Cemetery. The Beginning: Mrs. Dianne Miller Rogers was born on February 15, 1956 to the parentage of Mr. Eddie Lee Miller, Sr. and Ms. Lula Mae Miller.
Her Life: She graduated from Washington County High School in 1974 but strongly desired to continue her education and entered Georgia College and State University where she graduated in 1979 with in Associate Degree, 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree and in 2000 with a Master’s Degree in Adult Health. She also obtained a Nursing Home Administrator’s License in the State of Georgia and was certified by ANCC in Gerontology Nursing. Her higher education equipped and prepared her for a successful career in nursing. Dianne dedicated thirty two years at Central State Hospital where she provided loving care to patients as a Registered Nurse before her retirement in 2009. She also served on an Advisory Board at Georgia College and State University where she generously established The Dianne Rogers Minority Nursing Scholarship. Her goal was to help other under privileged students to achieve their dream of becoming a nurse. Dianne was also employed at Smith Medical Nursing Care Center for many years.
Dianne enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family. She had a special love for her church family where she served as church secretary/treasurer. She also loved attending NASCAR races, Braves and Falcons games and going to countless nursing conventions and seminars.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by her husband: Mr. Willie Edward Rogers, Sandersville, Georgia; one daughter: Mrs. Brittney (Calvin) Brown, Lawrenceville, Georgia; three sons: Mr. Chico (April) Harris, Ellenwood, Georgia, Mr. Renaldo (Aida) Harris, Mr. Brandon Rogers, Brunswick, Georgia; mother: Mrs. Lula Mae Miller, Sandersville, Georgia; father: Mr. Eddie Lee Miller, Sr., Sandersville, Georgia; two sisters: Ms. Eddie Mae Miller, Sandersville, Georgia, Mrs. Lorene (Arthur) Hennigan, Hinesville, Georgia; five brothers: Mr. Eddie Lee (Brenda) Miller, Jr., Mr. Earnest (Pearlie) Miller, Mr. Michael (Betty) Miller, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Anthony Miller, Tennille, Georgia, Mr. Jermaine Miller, Mesa, Arizona, eleven grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
