Mrs. Daisy Perry

Mrs. Daisy Perry, 100 years of age, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Washington County Regional Medical Center Extended Care Facility. Funeral services were held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Brown officiating. Interment was held in Smith Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The body will lie in state from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.

She was born on March 13, 1918 to the parentage of the late Mr. George Cannida and the late Mrs. Sallie Mae Cannida in Washington County, GA.

As life’s storms rage, point at the situations and smile because with Christ “we can.” Mrs. Perry taught and instilled the faith value of trusting God at all time. A strong root has been pulled from the family tree, but God will allow the amazing memories to stand forever. “And God shall wipe away all tear from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be anymore pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Revelations 21:4)

Daisy Mae was a devoted mother and grandmother, one who always saw to it that her children were given the best she could provide in loving care, spiritual nourishment and material comforts. The example she lived day by day will forever be a goal for her family to strive to reach.

The memories we have of our beloved will always be dear to our hearts. She gave her all for God and for the family He gave her. Now she has added to his great and blessed family in the world beyond our vision, which for lack of a better name, we call Heaven.

She was preceded in death by two children: Mrs. Minnie M. Danzy, Mr. Nathaniel Harden; and three brothers: Mr. George Cannida, Mr. William “Bill” Cannida and Mr. S.D. Cannida.

Mrs. Perry leaves to cherish her memories two sons: Mr. Willie J. (Geraldine) Harden, Jacksonville, FL, Mr. James (Mary Alice) Duggan, Sandersville, GA; two daughters: Mrs. Willie Mae (Moses) Thompson, Jacksonville, FL, Mrs. Sara (Frank) Simmons, Sandersville, GA; five grandchildren whom she reared: Mrs. Darlene (Michael) Taylor, Ms. Cassandra Duggan, Atlanta, GA, Mr. Daren Danzy, Baltimore, MD, Ms. Sabrina Danzy, Sandersville, GA, Mrs. Rhonda (Jerold) Tillman, Sandersville, GA; one sister: Mrs. Erma Houston, Macon, GA; two devoted great grandchildren: Mr. Chastian Danzy, Atlanta, GA, Ms. Dasia M. Danzy, Athens, GA; six god children: Hazel Nwous, Keith, Travis, Sandy, David, Carol Harden; twenty-nine grandchildren; sixty-eight great grandchildren; thirty-two great great grandchildren; devoted friend: Mrs. Ella Mae Barnes; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
