Mrs. Leatha Mae Waters
Mrs. Leatha Mae Waters, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Serenity Place Hospice, Dublin, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Community Missionary Baptist Church, Wrightsville, Georgia with Pastor Cecil Dunlap officiating. Interment was held in Harrison Cemetery.
Mrs. Waters was born on February 25, 1934 to the parentage of the late Mr. Emire Taylor and the late Mrs. Ola Bell Outlaw Taylor.
She was married to the late Mr. Eddie Waters, Sr. on November 27, 1949. She was a member of St. Galilee Baptist Church for many years before becoming a member of Community Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Waters operated a home daycare, where she cared for her grandchildren and many other children in Johnson County for many years. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed riding, sightseeing and shopping.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Ms. Lessie Waters and son Mr. Ernest Waters.
Mrs. Waters is survived by eleven children: Mr. Eddie Waters, Jr., Waterbury, Connecticut, Mr. Freddie Waters, Naugatuck, Connecticut, Mr. Lamar Waters, Dublin, Georgia, Mr. Grady Waters, Macon, Georgia, Mr. Larry (Barbara) Waters, Wrightsville, Georgia, Ms. Delois Darrisaw, Ms. Effie Bellamy, Ms. Caroletha Bivins, Mrs. Linda (Carlton) White, Mrs. Trellis (Kirk) Dent, Wrightsville, Georgia, Mrs. Annie (Harry) Thomas, Hinesville, Georgia; one brother: Mr. Henry Taylor, Harrison, Georgia; one sister: Mrs. Blanche (James) Gilmore, Warner Robins, Georgia; thirty-four grandchildren, eighty great-grandchildren, seventeen great-great-grandchildren; several other relatives and friends.
