Mr. Grady Taylor, Sr.
Mr. Grady Taylor, Sr., passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at a local hospital. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, Sandersville, Georgia with Rev. Henry Veal Jr., officiating. Interment was held in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor, affectionately known as “G”, was born on June 29, 1953 to the parentage of the late Mr. Albert Lee Taylor, Sr. and the late Ms. Euretha Braddy.
Grady attended the public schools of Washington County, graduating with the class of 1971. shortly after graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served our country from 1973 until 1976. After receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Army, he began working at Burgess Pigment Company where he worked for thirty years.
“G” loved his community. “G’ enjoyed putting a smile on everyone’s face and being the life of any gathering. He always spoke boldly and said what was on his mind. He enjoyed playing softball, listening to music, dancing, spending time with kids and grilling.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Ms. Martha Taylor, Ms. Louise Tillman, Ms. Maria Tillman; three brothers: Mr. Albert Taylor, Jr., Mr. Clinton Taylor, Sr., Mr. Allen Taylor; father-in-law: Mr. Albert Brown, Sr.; and one brother-in-law: Mr. Walter Tillman.
Mr. Taylor is survived be his wife: Mrs. Annie Taylor, Sandersville, Georgia; three daughters: Ms. Cassandra Duggan, Atlanta, Georgia, Mrs. Rhonda (Jerold) Tillman, Mrs. Laura (Vinson) Johnson, Sandersville, Georgia; three sons: Mr. Grady (Alicia) Taylor, Jr, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Travis (Stefanie) Brown, Pooler, Georgia, Mr. Donald Sutton, Jr., Winston Salem, North Carolina; two sisters: Mrs. Helen (George) James, Ms. Bessie Jordan; two brothers: Mr. Willie Floyd Taylor, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Charles Taylor (Patricia Salter), Millidgeville, Georgia; mother-in-law: Ms. Daisy Bell Tillman; nine sisters-in-law: Ms. Essie Taylor, Ms. Tinnie Taylor, Ms. Frances Tillman, Mrs. Mary (Sam) Irwin, Ms. Mattie Brown, Mrs. Roberta (Ben Lee) Madison, Ms. Lizzie Cummings, Ms. Alberta Brown, Ms. Bertha Mae Brown; five brothers-in-law: Mr. Tommy Tillman, Mr. Jesse Tillman, Mr. Johnny Tillman, Mr. Hazel (Ida) Brown, Mr. Robert (Betty) Brown; thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
