Mrs. Mary Walker Page


Mrs. Mary Walker Page passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Pine Hill Baptist Church, Davisboro, Georgia with Rev. Eric T. Adams officiating. Interment was held in church cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Walker Page was born on March 16, 1927 to a family of six in Dublin, GA to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie and Mrs. Maggie Walker. Her siblings were Mr. Willie Walker, Mr. Tommie Walker, Mr. Sam Walker, Mr. Ira Walker and Ms. Ethel Davis whom all preceded her in death.

She joined Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church at an early age then continued her spiritual journey at the Zion Hope Baptist Church before joining the Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church upon marriage to Deacon Eddie Page.She was married to the late Mr. Eddie Haynes and this union was blessed with one child. On December 19, 1951, she was joined in holy matrimony to Deacon Eddie Page for thirty seven years until the Lord called him home. Their union was blessed with seven children. She retired from the State of Georgia after working for over twenty years.

Mother Page was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member of the Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was a dutiful choir member, missionary and mother of the church. As a member of Pine Hill she was instrumental in establishing the youth choir and pitching in to help wherever needed. She was also a member of ADAH Chapter #2 Order of Eastern Star. In addition to her love for the Lord, she enjoyed fishing, cooking and reading the Bible. She always shared her motherly love and wisdom with others. Her greatest attribute was that she was a believer in Christ and she would say “Let the work I have done speak for me.” Her devotion extended to others in the community as she was a faithful and dedicated Foster Parent to Georgia’s children for over twenty nine years. She was truly a Proverb 31 Virtuous Woman.

Late in the evening on Monday, September 3, 2018, mom transitioned to her heavenly home to live eternally with her maker, the Lord Jesus Christ. In death as in life, she was surrounded by family and friends.She was preceded in death by her daughter: Mrs. Robin Page Hughes and son: Mr. Andrew Page.

Mrs. Page leaves to cherish her memories three daughters: Mrs. Sandra Page (Eric) Adams, Augusta, GA, Mrs. Mattie Florence Moody, Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Jean Elizabeth Tanner, Knob Noster, MO; three sons: Mr. Charlie Willie (Arletha) Haynes, Lake Placid, FL, Mr. Calvin Jerome Page, Sandersville, GA and Mr. Gregory Dirk (Angie) Page, Sr., Augusta, GA. She was inspirational in raising her late sister’s children: Mrs. Janice Merrill, Mr. Michael Fields, Mr. Lee Davis, Mr. Lynn Davis, Mr. Moses Wynn and many others. In addition, thirty-seven grandchildren; seventy-six great grandchildren; thirty-two great great grandchildren one great great great grandchild; special friends: Mr. Bern (Loyce) Anderson, Mrs. Dorothy (Eddie) Wiggins, Mr. David (Tarsha) Harper, Mrs. Alma Jean Lane, Ms. Diane Johnson, Mrs. Catherine (Rudy) Grant, Mr. Ricky (Annie) Fort, Mrs. Juanita Walker; a host of other relatives and friends.
