Ms. Duggan was born on October 24, 1941 in Davisboro, GA to the parentage of the late Mr. Will Duggan, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mary Ella Duggan.
She attended Davisboro Academy until her family moved a few miles away to Sandersville, GA. She never finished school while in the south and felt that her opportunities would be limited to domestic help. In 1964, she followed her siblings to New York for a better life for her family.
Ms. Duggan joined Jordan Grove Baptist Church at an early age. Once in New York, she became a member of Caldwell A.M.E. Zion Church in Bronx, NY where she sang in the Gospel Choir. She was a member of Class 6 and the Willing Worker Missionary.
After arriving in New York, she worked as a waitress in downtown Manhattan. The long hours and minimal pay helped her decide to go to school at night to complete her education. She attended Morris High School in the Bronx to obtain her GeneralEquivalency Diploma. She then went to trade school and earned her degree in Computer Technology. Upon graduating she began working at the Bronx Criminal Court with the Victim Services Agency as a data specialist. She was also a data processor at Chase Bank.
Eloise and her siblings spent the weekends at each other’s homes or having picnics and cookouts at the parks and beaches during the summer. She loved taking her kids, nieces, nephews and grand kids to Coney Island and the Bronx Zoo and she loved the annual road trips with the family to Sandersville. She also loved cooking Sunday and Holiday dinners for her family and friends.
When her illness kept her from moving about, she spent her time watching television. Her favorite show was Family Feud with Steve Harvey.
