Ms. Dorothy Jackson

Ms. Dorothy Jackson, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Smith Medical Nursing Care Center. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at New Gardners COGIC, Oconee, Georgia with Elder Ernest Harper officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.

Dorothy, affectionately known as “Aunt Dot,” was born on July 4, 1951 to the parentage of the late Ms. Doretha Walker and the late Mr. James Lamar Jackson.

She attended the public schools of Washington County.

Aunt Dot was a blessing to many and showed loved everywhere she went. She was the life of the party and a comedian at heart.

Ms. Jackson leaves to cherish her memories a son: Mr. James L. Jackson (Annie Lois Gundy), Milledgeville, Georgia; grandson: Mr. Kenzie Wimberly, Sandersville, Georgia; sister: Ms. Josephine Jackson, Sandersville, Georgia; brother: Mr. Roger Jackson, Tampa, Florida; devoted nieces: Ms. Carol Jackson, Ms. Malika Hall, Sandersville, Georgia; devoted friends; Mr. Charles (Beth) Turner, Pastor Bobby Jackson, Mr. Chuck (Cynthia) Hancock, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Evelyn Dawson, Oconee, Georgia; two great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
