Mrs. Mary Wilcher

Mrs. Mary Wilcher, affectionately known as Peaches, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 in Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Moore officiating. Interment was held in church cemetery.

Mrs. Wilcher was born on March 28, 1939 in Washington County, Sandersville, GA to the parentage of the late Mrs. Lessie Mae Mills and the late Mr. Charlie Ray.

She attended the public school system of Washington County. She joined Oak Grove Baptist Church at an early age and served on the Usher Board for many years.

She was employed as a housekeeper with the Washington County School System. She was also employed by the Industrial Plant in Tennille, Georgia.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family.

She had a passion for cooking and her favorite was collard greens. Before her health failed she loved to work in her yard, going shopping and talking on the phone with family and friends.

She was married to the late Mr. Tommie Lee Wilcher.

Mrs. Wilcher is survived be three daughters: Ms. Marilyn Wilcher, Tennille, Georgia, Ms. Vernell Wilcher, Ms. Linda Wilcher, Sandersville, Georgia; one son: Mr. Allen (Brenda) Wilcher, Tennille, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren: Mr. Travis (Jacquelyn) Cummings, Mr. Michael (Shenerica) Cummings, Mrs. Shanika (Jerome) Simmons, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Shavoris Veal, Mr. Rodney Taylor, Tennille, Georgia, Mr. Mario Wilcher, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Kelvin Wilcher, Americus, Georgia, Ms. Felicia Poole, Ms. Chastity Poole, Mr. Jeffery Poole, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Cierra Spinks, Augusta, Georgia, Mr. Devon Wilcher, Mr. Jeremy Wilcher, Tennille, Georgia, Mr. Roger Spinks, Macon, Georgia, Mr. Wesley Spinks, Japan; nineteen great-grandchildren; several other relatives and friends.
