Mr. Sammie Barlow

Mr. Sammie Barlow passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Springfield Fellowship Church with Pastor Victor Cuyler officiating.

Sammie was raised in Harrison, Georgia and he relocated to Atlanta where he built and enjoyed the rest of his life.

He was a very loving, faithful, humble and patient man. Anyone could depend on him to give them the shirt off of his back. He was a hard worker in the construction field and a stylish dresser in his off time. Somewhere in his life he gained the name PIMPIN, because of his style. Although his condition was enough to break anyone’s spirit, he remained positive. While others considered him to be optimistic, he was only hopeful that he would walk again someday, and those words were spoken until the day he took his last breath. He was always the one to encourage others and never spoke down on anyone no matter what. He was truly an angel in disguise.

Sammie was preceded in death by two brothers: Mr. Rodney Leon Taylor, Mr. Lee Calvin Taylor and one sister: Ms. Mary Helen Darrisaw.

Sammie leaves to cherish his memories five brothers: Mr. Solomon (Patricia) Barlow, Clarkston, Georgia, Mr. Thomas (Henrietta) Mearidy, Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Graylin (Vickie) Taylor, Sr., Hampton, Georgia, Mr. Cleophus (Sandrial) Mason, Decatur, Georgia, Mr. James Allen Taylor, Harrison, Georgia; one sister: Mrs. Jennifer (Ray) Lee, Sandersville, Georgia; devoted love one: Mr. Ottis James Snell, Atlanta, Georgia; devoted nephew: Mr. Keith Mearidy; loving devoted niece: Ms. Daphne Barlow; special friend: Mr. Eddie Hines; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. A very special thanks goes to his brother Mr. Thomas Mearidy for making him most comfortable throughout his journey. M.C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
