Mr. Nathaniel Warthen, Jr.

Mr. Nathaniel Warthen, Jr., Sandersville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Holly Spring Baptist Church, Warthen, Georgia. Interment was held in church cemetery.

Mr. Nathaniel Warthen, Jr., affectionately known as “N.J.,” departed this life on August 28, 2017 at the residence of his brother following an extended illness.

He was born on November 24, 1951 to the parentage of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Warthen, Sr.

Nathaniel joined Holly Spring Baptist Church at an early age. He was a graduate of Washington County High School Class of 1970. N.J. was a fun and loving person who would help anyone.

He was preceded in death by his father Mr. Nathaniel Warthen, Sr., mother Mrs. Carron Warthen and brother Mr. Marion Warthen.

Mr. Warthen is survived by eight children: Mrs. Angienita (Jarvis) Hooks, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Latrino Roberson, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Demetric Tucker, Sparta, Georgia, Mr. Ricardo (Nicole) Warthen, Macon, Georgia, Mr. Travis Warthen, Warner Robins, Georgia, Ms. Tammy Peeler, Tennille, Georgia, Ms. Stephanie Warthen, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Cornelius Sanders, Sandersville, Georgia. Devoted friend: Ms. Tracy Brown, Miami, Florida. Four sisters: Ms. Sherry Woods, Sandersville, Georgia, Pastor Lovie (Artis) Warthen, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Sylvia Walker, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Carolyn Warthen, Sandersville, Georgia. Six brothers: Mr. Tommie Warthen, Warthen, Georgia, Mr. Melvin (Geraldine) Warthen, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Zimmie (Lillie Ree) Warthen, Warthen, Georgia, Mr. Racie Warthen, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Larry (Zina) Warthen, Tennille, Georgia, Mr. Lawson Warthen, Sandersville, Georgia.
