Mrs. Lizzie Clover


Mrs. Lizzie Clover, Sandersville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at a local hospital. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Tanner officiating. Interment was held in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Lizzie Mae Reese Clover, affectionately known as “Pat,” of Sandersville, Georgia was called home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.

Mrs. Clover, the eldest of six children, was born on January 9, 1939 in Warthen, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Curtis Reese, Sr., and the late Mrs. Louise Miles Reese.

She joined Holly Spring Baptist Church at an early age. She attended T.J. Elder High School. She worked for many years as a cook in a local café. Her work ethics were above reproach. Over the years many of her family and friends described her as a dependable and devoted employee. Pat was a tender-hearted and compassionate person who believed that you treat others as you want to be treated. Prior to her illness, her home was a place where love overflowed and her hospitality made you feel important.

Lizzie was preceded in death by a loving husband of forty nine years, two sons, a daughter, three siblings and a granddaughter.

Mrs. Clover is survived by two daughters: Ms. Yvette Michelle Reese, Atlanta, Georgia, Ms. Jeanette Reese, Sandersville, Georgia; one son: Mr. Alton Reese, Mississippi; one sister: Mrs. Danny (William) Miller, Sandersville, Georgia; one brother: Mr. David Reese, Sr., Brentwood, New York; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; several other relatives and friends.
