PVT Stankeevion Wimbley


Private Stankeevion Wimbley passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 in El Paso, Texas. Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at New Birth Christian Ministries with Sr. Pastor Patrick Wilson officiating. Interment was held in Solomon Temple Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Stankeevion began his formal education in the Washington County Public School System and completed his senior year in the Johnson County Public School System where he graduated from Johnson County High School with the class of 2016.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 1, 2016. He attended Basic Training in Fort Jackson, SC, completed Military Occupational Training as a “Tracked Vehicle Repairer” at Fort Lee, VA and was stationed at Forward Support Company (FSC), J, 4th Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, Fort Bliss, TX.

Stankeevion was nicknamed “Wim Wim” by his family and friends. He was a kind, compassionate, loving and generous man who was passionate about his family. He loved his family especially his brothers. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing video games and listening to music. His favorite song was “Drinking Class” by Lee Brice. His favorite quote was 1 Corinthians 13:11 (NIV) “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.

Mr. Wimbley is survived his mother: Ms. Shawanda Daniels (Keith Grayson), McMinnville, Tennessee; father: Mr. Rodrick (Diana) Wimbley, Sandersville, Georgia; three brothers: Mr. Darieon Daniels, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Ja'Terrius Rozier, McMinnville, Tennessee, Mr. Rod'Quavious Wimbley, Dover, Delaware; grandparents: Ms. Sandra Gilmore (Ronnie Haynes), Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Carlton White, Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Roger (Carol) Wimbley, Wrightsville, Georgia; four aunts: Ms. Crystal White, Swainsboro, Georgia, Ms. Kayce White, Atlanta, Georgia, Ms Sherlonda Wimbley, Ms. Cassandra Wimbley, Wrightsville, Georgia; three uncles: Mr. Robert Stephens, Mr. Travis Biggins, Sandersville, Georgia; Mr. Travis Boatwright, Wadley, Georgia; one niece: Miss Brylee Grace Daniels, Sandersville, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends. M. C. Smith Funeral Home is in charge.
