Mrs. Melzie Lee Williams

Mrs. Melzie Lee Williams was born on April 19, 1925 to the parentage of the late Mr. Ephron Davis and the late Mrs. Lizzie Cason Davis. She was the sixth of thirteen children. The family was reared in Donovan, GA. She attended Dock Kemp School. She joined Pine Grove AME Church at an early age where she was a faithful member. Melzie was on the Usher Board, Church Secretary, and served as Mother of the Church until her health failed. On January 1, 1947 she married the late Mr. Jasper Williams, and unto this union nine children were born. Melzie was called “Mau” by her children and many others. She worked as a homemaker until all of her children were grown. She worked for a locally owned

Mrs. Gesela Major Hodges, was called home on Friday Afternoon, May 26, 2017. Funeral services were held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Georgia Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Grissom officiating. Interment was held at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Hodges was born on April 16, 1917 in Tennille, GA to the parentage of the late Mr. Herman Major and the late Mrs. Minnie Wilcher Major. She was educated in the Washington County School System. She was a member of Mt. Zion Second Baptist Church, Atlanta, GA and Georgia Grove Baptist Church, Tennille, GA. Mrs. Celia Adams

On August 30, 1920, the late Mr. Peter and Mrs. Savannah Dent Tucker celebrated the birth of their oldest daughter Celia Mae, in Washington County, GA. Her sisters were Geneva and Harriette. Her brothers were Ruby, Willis, James, Johnny B., Vennis Lee Tucker, and Willie Mack Davis. All have preceded her in death. On February 21, 1937, she married the late Mr. Oscar R. “Burke” Adams. They celebrated over sixty years of marriage before the Lord called him home in April, 1997. Their union was blessed with twelve children.
